Annual Volkswagen Rally Features Tricked-out Rides

You don’t have to be a serious car buff to appreciate the tricked out rides that draws participants from across the country and USA. Held shortly after Easter each year, the 6th annual Guayafest Volkswagen rally begins on Saturday April18th at 5 p.m. with a flashy parade through Rincón de Guayabitos. The parade ends at the town square with a dance featuring local banda music.
The organizers, TPC Bugs Club and the Asociación Nacional de Clubes Vocheros de México, have planned a welcome dinner for participants and their families on Saturday night.
After an evening of celebrating, the serious car stuff begins the next morning at 9 a.m., followed by the competition at noon. The event will wrap up around 5 p.m. and there will be music playing the entire day. Hundreds of Volkswagens are expected to be on display in the Guayabitos town plaza. Nearly 200 awards will be awarded for the first three places within the original, modified and custom categories.
